TO MY DAUGHTER

” I’ve written this poetry to my daughter and I desire to dedicate it
to all those who have dreams and the courage to realize them… ”

Black eyes like the night,
The first thing that I have seen when you was born.
Watching you to grow up
I have accompanied day after day yours passes.
Making treasure of my errors
I have believed of being able to teach the life to you.
With my love
I have believed of being able to protect you from the pain
that often the life inflicts to us.
But also with the best intentions,
sometimes,
it is not easy protect from the pain
the people who we love.
And it seems only yesterday that I held to you between my arms,
while instead today we are here
and you are grown.
You are become an young woman with great eyes of fawn.
Your heart is a rough diamond
because the pain that so young you have already experimented
has rendered you at the same time sensitive, strongly and fair,
able to fight until in bottom for that what you believe
and for that you love.
And I have understood that you are ready to open wide your wings
and to detach the flight.
Yes my darling,
you can do this.
Go and fly
and not to allow never to nobody to cut your wings.
Not to believe who says you that you cannot fly,
that you cannot living your dreams,
because the dreams are the same life
and who give up on the own dreams dies.
This is all which still I can say to you
after which, from you, I can only learn.
Thanks for being like you are.
Thanks for the force that you give to me.
Thanks to have given to me the courage
to believe that also I can still dream
and enjoy life.
